Step 1 : Soak Your Feet In Warm to Hot Water

Why warm to hot water, you may ask? It is quite simple, warm or hot water is known to soften the skin. Soaking your feet in warm to hot water helps loosen up dead skin that have pilled up and caked on your heels. It also helps loosen up the harden and dry skin causing your heels to crack. Let your feet soak in the water for at least 15 minutes. Depending on how severely cracked your heels are, letting your feet soak in warm water for a while longer may be more beneficial. After letting your feet soak up the moisture from the water for at least 15 minutes, move on to step two.

Step 2: Scrub off the loosened up dead and dry skin.

With your feet still in the water, using a foot scrub/brush
(similar to what is displayed above), scrub off all the loose and softened dead skin caked on your heels. Use the rock like side first and then follow up with the brush. This step is important to follow, as this is what will remove layers of dead and unwanted skin to reveal a smooth layer of skin on your heels. Foot scrubbing is one of the steps often ignored by most, but yet so important. As a matter of fact, to maintain smooth heels, one should scrub their heels daily during their routine shower. Scrub your body, scrub your heels and thank us later.

Step 3: Deep Moisturize

This is the last step, but definitely not the least. All the previous steps are going to be useless if you DO NOT MOISTURIZE! Essentially, what will happen if you do not moisturize is that your skin will remain dry and continue to crack.

It is also important to know that not just any moisturizer will do. A deep moisturizer is what will prevent your heels from cracking as it will keep your heels moisturized throughout the day. Regular moisturizers will not provide enough moisture and nutrition, and often dries up after an hour or less. Depending on how severe you heel cracks are, we recommend re-application of our deep moisturizer up to three times a day. Our Lemon Shea Butter has exfoliating benefits due to the rough texture from the mixture of the lemon juice and Shea Butter and is great for further exfoliation of the heels while still providing moisture. But if you prefer a smoother textured deep moisturizer, both our Olive Oil Shea Butter and Unrefined Shea Butter will do the job. Our moisturizers are great for daily use for face, body, and feet!

Those are the three simple steps to get rid of cracked heels. Remember, consistency is key. Follow these steps consistently and you will have glorious to show off when walking barefoot or rocking those gorgeous high heels and sandals.
